Sanderijn Cels

As a senior consultant, Sanderijn Cels is working with CBI on a special research project about public apologies. The core question of her study is: why do some apologies succeed while others fail? She specializes in complicated, political cases with many stakeholders and dimensions. She also serves as a Research Associate at the MIT-Harvard Public Disputes Program.

An independent scholar in the field of politics and government, Sanderijn was president of Kabinet Online, a think tank advising the Dutch government on the challenges of the information age. She has also worked as a senior advisor to several ministries of the Dutch national government on issues such as strategic communication, gender equality and citizen participation. She has written six books and numerous articles.

Sanderijn was born and raised in the Netherlands. She holds a masters degree in history. Currently, she lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
